Welcome to the Georgia Local Government Personnel Association (GLGPA) 2024 Fall
Conference in Athens, GA. Our theme this year is Dawggone Good HR. We are excited to
celebrate the good you do every day as Human Resources Professionals. Whether you are new
to GLGPA or returning, it is an honor to have you as a member.
GLGPA is more than a conference that you attend three times a year; your membership extends
beyond the conferences. As a member of GLGPA, you are part of a family that you can call and
lean on throughout the year. Between each conference, we offer the opportunity to receive
legislative updates, networking, and best practice advice through our roundtables.
Our partnership with the Carl Vinson Institute of Government, UGA, has been pivotal in our
success and the validation of our program. No other Human Resources Certification program
offers you the opportunity to learn from the best of the best at UGA and experienced experts in
the field. In a way, coming back to the UGA campus is like coming home.
My hope is that you feel the love and care that our association provides for our members. I also
hope that your experience is enriching and that knowledge is pouring in. I want each of you to
leave this conference having met one new person to add to your close networking family and
long-term friendships.
Lastly, I am excited and elated to serve as your President and President-Elect. With this
excitement comes an electrified feeling of changes to come. I desire to celebrate our members
and excite our conferences with learning that is engaging from the opening to the closing
ceremony. The energy will be high and filled with an eagerness to learn, which will end with the
anticipation of the next conference. Do not delay in securing your spot, because you do not
